Totally Mental Limited Release      12/06/2007

News Release by iDJ

Totally Mental Limited Release Scandanavian stalwart to release ultra-rare track to the highest bidder. Best get your chequebook out...

Norweigan electronic producer Mental Overdrive is set to release a new track. However, if you want it, you’d best get your skates on. There’s only one copy.

The master tapes for ‘Elephantastic!’ are on ebay now, available to the highest bidder. It will present an increasingly-rare oppurtunity in a CD-burning world for one DJ to have a truly exclusive record up their sleeve. The auction opened on June 1st, and closes on the 21st.

Mental Overdrive – Per Martinsen to his Mum – has been producing tracks since the early 90s, and released records on legendary Belgian techno imprint R&S. Since 1995, he has put records out on his own Love OD label. The move to release the track comes from a desire to respark the age-old Art vs. Commerce debate.

Should you land the masters, they’ll physically be yours, but intellectual property rights remain with Mental Overdrive: effectively putting a stop to you licensing it out to sell French hatchbacks or mobile phones!
